Doyis Wayne Rogers

Doyis 'Wayne' Rogers, age 73, of Cookeville, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Wayne was born January 29, 1939 in Belmont, Mississippi to the late Dewey Rogers and Leona Aldridge Rogers. Mr. Rogers enjoyed his work and was skilled in Wood Working as well as a musician, playing the guitar. He loved fishing and being out doors. He is survived by four children; Laura Tiller (Tim) of Peoria IL, Joseph Rogers (Amber) of West Verginia, James Rogers (Elizabeth) also of West Verginia, and Michael Rogers. Wayne is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Lowe of Cookeville, and one brother, Norris Rogers of Arkansas, as well as eight grandchildren; Jordan Rogers, Addison Rogers, Samantha Rogers, Siera Rogers, Destiny Rogers, Damion Rogers, Katelyn Rogers and Mitch Rogers, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by three brothers; J.C. Rogers, L.D. Rogers and an infant brother and two sisters; Ethel Fredrick and Essie Fredrick. The family has chosen cremation and a memorial service is to be planned for a later date.
