Douglas Williams

Memorial Services for Douglas Lanier Williams, age 69, of Cookeville, will be Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2 from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Mr. Williams passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Doug was born October 29, 1943 in Putnam County TN to the late Lawson Williams and Adele Maxwell Williams. He was a former member of the Lyons Club and the Rotary Club. Mr. Williams was enjoying his retirement, loved traveling, and will be remembered by his love of golf. Doug is survived by his three children; Emily Williams of Seymour TN, Amy Williams of Knoxville and Stephen (Melissa) Williams of Plumus Lake CA. In addition he is survived by one brother, Hugh (Meirl) Williams of Baxter and one sister, Amy (Andy) Anderson of Sparta, three grandchildren; Storm, Wyatt and Sierra Williams and the mother of his children, Maggie Smith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by two brothers; Roger Williams and Dale Williams.
