DYER CHAPEL-Douglas Scott Poston, born on March 15, 1979, departed this life on November 12, 2024, at his home in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was a cherished automotive painter, whose dedication to his craft was evident in the quality and passion he brought to his work. Douglas was a proud graduate of Livingston Academy, a testament to his commitment to learning and growth throughout his life.
In his free time, Douglas found joy in video gaming, a hobby that brought him both relaxation and connection with others. His vibrant personality and spirited zeal for life made him a beloved figure among family and friends. He was a truck and car enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family and friends and his dogs.
Douglas leaves behind his father, Ronnie Poston of Allons, TN; his wife, Lisa Rogers Poston of Cookeville; sons, Kyle Whitmore of McMinnville and Abel Turner of Cookeville; daughters, Sara (Cameron) Bilbrey, Sayrah Poston, Aryan Crawley, and Savannah Poston, all of Cookeville; and his sister, Christy (Randal) Slayton of Allons, TN. Additionally, he is survived by five cherished grandchildren, Denleigh, Oliver, Kaden, Myles, and Phoenix, who brought immense joy to his life, as well as his nephews, Jaydon Slayton and Matthew Slayton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hoover Poston; his paternal grandparents, Olon and Charles Poston; and his maternal grandparents, Roxie and Lon Hoover.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for November 15, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Dyer Chapel, located at 798 South Willow Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38501. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be a 5:00 PM, allowing loved ones to remember and honor Douglas’s legacy. Bro. Danny Rogers will officiate.
Douglas Scott Poston's warm smile, loving spirit, and unwavering commitment to his family and profession will forever be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
