Dorothy Jean Kress

Mrs. Dorothy Kress passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Hospital in Cookeville, TN. She was born August 9, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Alice Lovecchio Greiner and the late Samuel A. Lovecchio. Dorothy grew up in Glen Rock, NJ, lived for many years in Virginia and Florida, and finally settled in Sparta, TN after retiring from JCPenney. Dorothy was known as 'Dot' to many. Her friends and family will remember her for her sense of humor and being so full of life. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 28 years William Kress; three step-daughters, Kristine (Robert) Baden of Virginia, Kerri Kress of California, and Karen Kress (Mike) Dobbins of California; and two grandchildren, Samantha Baden and Peter Dobbins. She also leaves behind her sister, Lorraine Lovecchio Fredericks of Florida; two nieces, Michelle (Tim) Hogan of Florida and Jennifer (Mike) Finley of Florida; and her brother, Lawrence (Fawn) Lovecchio of Colorado. In addition, Dorothy also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Duke, Rosie, and Peanut. The family has chosen cremation and no service has been planned at this time.
