Dorothy Halfacre

GRANVILLE-Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Halfacre, 97 of Granville will be held Friday, November 27 at 2 p.m. in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Jeremiah Tatum will officiate. Mrs. Halfacre's family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Halfacre died Tuesday evening, November 24, 2020 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born October 22, 1923 in Buffalo Valley, TN to the late George Losco and Geneva Pearl Young Cowan and attended school in Buffalo Valley as well as in the Nameless community of Jackson County. She worked in various capacities in hospitals and upon her retirement, worked as a seamstress. She was a gifted homemaker who enjoyed sewing and cooking. She remained independent taking care of herself and living an active and vivacious life until recent days. Mrs. Halfacre was a member of Willow Ave. Church of Christ in Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, W.T. "Tom" Halfacre; brothers, Horace, Howard, G.L., Robert and Lige; and by sisters, Gladys, Virginia, Hazel and Manell. She is survived two sons and daughter-in-law, William D. and Glynda Carol Halfacre of Granville, and Thomas Steven Halfacre and John Vine of Granville; two grandchildren, Thomas Brook Halfacre and his fiance, Michelle, Logan Douglas Halfacre and his wife,Jill; great grandchildren, Kaylyn Paige, Kendall Carolyn and Colton Sanders and several nieces and nephews. John Turner, Wayne Roberts, Matt Neal, Tommy Trujullo, Joe Neal and Willie Jones will serve as pallbearers. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111.
