Dorothy Hale

Dorothy Mae Hale, age 98, of Monterey, passed away Friday evening April 10, 2020 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. She was born March 30, 1922 in Lawrence, IN to the late Roscoe and Eva Elizabeth Hopkins Smith. Mrs. Hale was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Hale; son, James, "Butch" Allen Hale; sister, Mary Bradley; and brothers, Wilbur and Elmer Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Carmen) Halcomb of Monterey; sister, Ruth Spinks of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Renee (Jason) Robbins, Bryan (Donna) Norrod, Christopher Norrod, Doug (Kristina) Hale, James "Jay" (Jacquie) Hale, Tim Hale, and Eric Hale; eleven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Wendy Hale of Indianapolis, IN. Private graveside services will be held at Old Oaklandon Cemetery in Oaklandon, IN. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
