Dorothy "Dot" Nell Brown

BAXTER-Graveside service and interment for Dorothy "Dot" Nell Brown, 96 of Baxter will be Tuesday, August 4 at Alvin Byrd Bruce Family Cemetery on Bruce Ridge Road. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 11 AM until 1 PM at Dyer Funeral Home then we will leave for the graveside service. Due to COVID-19 social distancing will be observed. Mrs. Brown died Friday, July 31, 2020 at her home. She was born January 28, 1924 in Baxter to the late James Scott Watts and Eva Lena Bruce Watts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Lee Brown, Sr., sister Clara Janet Stewart, brothers Bennie Hop Watts and John Byrd Watts. She was a graduate of Baxter Seminary. She was a lab technician at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant. She also was a sales clerk at Sears and a homemaker. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, canning and freezing vegetables and working in her flower garden. Survivors include daughter Cynthia Jared of Baxter, son and daughter-in-law Lee and Lisa Brown of Baxter, grandchildren: Aubrey Deanna (Scott) Glover, John T. Jared, III, Autumn Lee Welch, Dakota Lee (Jesse) Johnson, great-grandchildren: Marlee Burgess-Glover, Taylor Jared, William Jared, Harper Daniels, Kyleen Daniels, Phillip "J.R." Daniels, Carter Welch, Dalton Welch, Payton Johnson, Maddux Johnson, Jessica, Josie and Alex Glover, great-great-grandchildren: Chloe Glover, Micah, Jace and Elias Shirey, several nieces and nephews and extended family.
