Dorothy Devillanueva

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Irene DeVillanueva, age 83, of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, March 9th at 1:00 p.m. at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Ron Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. DeVillanueva passed away Friday, March 4th at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 17, 1938 in Byrdstown, TN to the late Arnold Esco and Dulla Mae Sells Brannum. Dorothy was loving, caring and compassionate person. She was strong and a rock to her family. She worked as a nurse while living in California. She enjoyed fishing and family camping trips in days gone by. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel DeVillanueva; daughter, Elizabeth K. Arms; son, Joseph Charles DeVillanueva; sister, Jessie Lloyd; and by son in law, Tommy Dale Fields. She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Fields of Baxter, Myra Jane Waal of Missouri, David (daughter in law Stephanie) DeVillanueva of Riverside, CA, William James (daughter in law Brenda) DeVillanueva of Elmira, NY, Aloha L. (son in law Shane) Briggs of Sparta, TN, Manuel Joseph "Joey" (daughter in law Tiffany Lynn) DeVillanueva of Buffalo Valley, TN, Michael Anthony (daughter in law Tiffany) DeVillanueva of Cookeville, TN, Amanda Mae (son in law Chris) Harris of Cookeville, TN; and by brother, Porter Cleston Brannum, of Byrdstown. She is also survived by special friends, Carolyn Honeycutt, Brenda Bowman and Stacey Bowman, and by her beloved dog, Tiny. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
