Funeral services for Mrs. Dorotha "Dorothy" Mildred Daniel, 87 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday March 15 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. Rev. Harold Walker will officiate. Mrs. Daniel died Thursday morning March 13, 2014 in Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Masters surrounded by her family. She was born May 6, 1926 in Putnam County to the late Claude Vaden and Maggie McCaleb Bryant SR. She was a homemaker; a member of Gentry Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and attended Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Daniel; and four brothers, Finis Bryant, Willard Bryant, Claude Bryant, JR, and Rayburn Bryant. Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Debi and Terry Presley, and Sandra and Rev. Harold Walker all of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Sammy McDaniel and Kamala (Adam) Smith; and three great grandchildren, Baylee McDaniel, Cole McDaniel, and Corbin Smith. Pallbearers will be Charles West, Kenneth Maxwell, Roy Patterson, Martin McDaniel, JR Grogan, and Sammy McDaniel. Mrs. Daniel family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
