Funeral services for Dorothy Brown, 86 of Baxter, will be Saturday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Pharris officiating. Friends are invited to come by the funeral home to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community of Putnam County. Mrs. Brown died Thursday morning, May 28. 2020 in Bailey Manor of Cookeville. She was born September 18, 1933 in Landrum, SC to the late Tandy Tucker and Mary Sue Raines Tucker. Mrs. Brown was a member of Baxter First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, crocheting, and canning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Hermon Leon “Lee” Brown on January 1, 2017; sisters, Ruby Griffin, Wilma Davis and Addie Luben. Survivors include son Tom Brown and wife Hilary of Cookeville, grandsons Adam (Jamie) Brown of Baxter, Devin (Nichole) Brown of Cookeville, great-grandchildren: Lillian, Olen, Preston, Paisley and Geneva Brown, brothers, Buddy (Shirley) Tucker of Landrum, SC, Jack (Sandy) Tucker of Hilton Head, SC, and a sister, Olga Larson of Birmingham, AL.
