Dorn A. Mayberry

Funeral Services for Mr. Dorn “Buddy” Mayberry, age 79, of Cookeville, and formerly of Corbin KY, will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. Mr. Mayberry passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family early Saturday morning, March 28 at the Hospice House of the Upper Cumberland in Cookeville. He was born May 26, 1935 in Nashville TN to the late Willie Mayberry and Janie Elizabeth Upchurch Mayberry. Buddy was a proud veteran of the United States Army and an active member of the Little Indian Creek Church of Christ in Corbin before moving to Cookeville in December of last year. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by his family and friends. Buddy is survived by his wife of twenty three years, Norma Christine Mayberry as well as four loving children; his daughters Brenda Sue Fentress (husband Tommy) and Dora Alice Marcurm (husband Richard) both of Murfreesboro and two step-daughters, Patricia Bilbrey of Cookeville and Rachel Latimer (husband Sean) of Clarksville TN. In addition he is survived by twelve grandchildren; James L. (Nikki) Sliger, Thomas W. (Nancy) Sliger, Matthew S. (Jaclyn) Sliger, E. Boone (Brandi) Sliger, Amanda Leigh McWilliams, Jonathan M. Latimer, Jackie (Chris) Gentry, Fred (Holly) Baggett, David (Irene) Rooney, and Tina (Richard) Strait, as well as nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Mayberry; a sister, Polly McDaniel, an infant sister and a step-son, Harold Edward Hatfield Jr. Bro. Jeremiah Tatum will be conducting the services.
