Doris Romick

Funeral services for Doris Griggs Romick, age 89 of Edgewater, FL and formerly of Algood, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday February 3 at Algood United Methodist Church. Rev. Albert Willis will officiate. Entombment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 12 noon until service time at the church. Doris passed away Thursday January 27, 2022 at Halifax Hospice in Edgewater. She was born October 29, 1932 in Nashville, TN to the late Fred Eugene and Vera Kinningham Griggs. Doris was a member of Algood United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, William F. "Bill" Romick of Edgewater, FL; son-in-law, Jim Young; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jack Carmicheal of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Justin (Christine) Carmicheal and Brandon (Ashley) Carmicheal; three great-grandchildren, Holden, Piper, Walker Carmicheal; and sister, Delores Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lynn Romick; brother, Fred E. Griggs Jr.; and sister, Dorothy Porter. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation, American Cancer Society, or Halifax Health-Hospice Southeast Volusia CareCenter.
