Doris Beechboard

Funeral services for Doris Meredith Beechboard, age 76 of Cookeville, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday February 20 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Adams officiated. Interment followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family received friends Friday from 4 -8 p.m. and again Saturday from 12 noon until service time. Social distancing and the use of masks was appreciated. Doris passed away Saturday evening February 13, 2021 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville. She was born March 26, 1944 in Cookeville, TN to the late Burch Lebert Harpe and Leona Blaylock Harp. Doris was a member of Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church. She formerly was employed at Norwalk Furniture in Cookeville. She later worked and retired from Cookeville Regional Medical Center with over 30 years of service in environmental services department. Doris enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, tending her beautiful rose bushes, and watching humming birds. She especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Tony) Gentry, Kim (Mike) Thompson, all of Cookeville; step-daughter, Marla Beechboard of Livingston; step-sons, Wayne Beechboard of Hilham, Bob (Cathy) Beechboard of Cookeville; sister-in-law, Brenda Harp of Cookeville; grandchildren, Chad (Lisa) Beechboard, Brian Beechboard, Andy (Hannah) Beechboard, Brent (Rachel) Beechboard, Marissa (Drew) Scott, David Thompson, Eric Beechboard, and Alicia Tyson; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth (Paul) Welch, Twyla (Tyler) Phillips; and eleven great grandchildren. Doris' family wishes to express their gratitude to her caregivers, Beverly Green, Vickie Lafever, Angela Rigdon, Sam Sigler, and Dr. Jane Anne Gotcher.
