Dorcus Gwendolyn Willeford

Funeral services for Dorcus Gwendolyn Willeford, age 81, of Cookeville, will be Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Dodson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 21, 2013 fron 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Willeford entered into rest Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born one of ten children on September 17, 1932 in Overton County TN to the late Shirley Dillon and Golda Callahan Dillon. Dorcus loved her flowers, gardening, canning, and bowling. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dorcus is survived by her husband, James Willeford; five children, Charles (Linda) Stewart of Adairsville GA, Peggy Conner of Algood, Gloria (Ray) Meador of Moreno CA, Dana (Darris) Honeycutt and Gwen (Rick) Denton both of Cookeville. In addition Mrs. Willeford is survived by one brother, Cyle Dillon and one sister, Ann (Herm Barth) Bowman; as well as ten grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, Anna, Rachel, Lori, Ross, Raygn, Heaven, Eden and Cainan; eight great grandchildren, Britini, Bailey, Payton, Jacob, Evan, Mayrn, Dylen and Brandon; and one great-great grandson, Hunter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Willeford was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Croft and Malyne Copeland/ and five brothers, Bruce, Otto, Osco, Gene and Robert Dillon. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Gary West will be conducting the services.
