Dorce "Cotton" Bilbrey

Mr. Dorce "Cotton" Bilbrey passed from this life Tuesday June 7, 2022, surrounded by family. Cotton was born April 9, 1946 in Crossville, TN to the late Thurston Bilbrey and Auda Phillips Bilbrey. He was a graduate of Algood High School class of 1966, the last graduating class of the school. He served his country as a member of the US Army as a member of Battery A 3rd Battalion from July 1966 to July 24, 1969. He was an avid bicyclist, traveling many miles including the entire Natchez Trail. He also enjoyed hiking and has hiked many trails all over Tennessee. He traveled and camped the United States from coast to coast. He was a man of many interests and abilities, he enjoyed carpentry, gardening, fishing and was a naturalist and herbalist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Bilbrey. He is survived by sister, Sarah "Cissy" Bilbrey, of Algood; niece, Mika Julian; nephews, Shane (Lisa) Waters and Kristopher (Lauren) White; two great nieces, Amber Cumby and Heartlynn White; six great nephews, Michael Cumby, Tyler Gist, Ben Waters, Charlie Waters, Carter White and Slade Nelson White; and by a great great nephew, Tristen Cumby. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Algood Community Center, 125 4th Ave, Cookeville, TN 38506.
