Donnie Westbrooks

Funeral services for Mr. Donnie Edwin Westbrooks, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, December 12 at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Buddy Johnson will officiate. Donnie's family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Donnie died Friday morning, December 8, 2017 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1943 in Perry County, Tennessee to Mrs. Mildred Duncan Westbrooks Beasley of Lobelville, TN and the late James Westbrooks. Donnie was a long-time member and Deacon at Jefferson Avenue Church of Church where he served as leader of the Young at Heart. He retired as Area Manager of East Tennessee Natural Gas Company with 40 years of service. Donnie was former President of Cookeville Jacyees and Cookeville Country Club. He was an avid golfer and played softball in the Church League for many years. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Oneida Hinson. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lacquita Byrd Westbrooks (whom he married December 23, 1961 in Florence, AL); daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Wade Kendrick of Madison, AL; grandchildren, Kevin, Jonathan, and Kaylee Beth Kendrick; sister, Janie Marrs of Lobelville; and two brothers, Bruce (Brenda) Westbrooks of Clifton, TN and Darryl (Lucille) Westbrooks of Lobelville; and a host of nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Active Pallbearers will be Kevin and Jonathan Kendrick, Pat Fitzpatrick, Randy Spurlock, Bud Simpson, and Eddie Anderson.
