Donald Parker

August 9, 1934 — July 27, 2023

Donald O. Parker, 88, of Clearwater, FL passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2023 in Crossville, TN of

natural causes. Don was born August 9, 1934, in Cleveland, TN to William J. and Ida S. Callahan Parker

and was the youngest of four children.


A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 12 p.m. at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, 798 S. Willow Ave. in Cookeville with the family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow immediately at Pleasant View Cemetery on Cookeville Boatdock Rd., Baxter, TN.


He is survived by his three children, sons Gary L. Parker of Kansas City, MO, Keith B. Parker (Karen) of

Boynton Beach, FL and Donna J. Boerner (Greg) of Redington Shores, FL, five grandchildren, Craig Parker of Boynton Beach, FL, Stephanie Cossum (Ben) of Ballard, WA, Allison Cates (Lloyd) of Raleigh, NC, Olivia Eckley (Kyle) of Killeen, TX, Ethan Boerner of Redington Shores, FL, and one great-grandchild, Callahan James Eckley born in 2021 and Peggy Allison Bush, beloved companion. He leaves behind a multitude of other relatives and friends and loved ones.


Don was blessed to have a legacy of love throughout his life and is predeceased by first wife Barbara C. Mayberry and his eternal love of 50 years, Reba Jean Allison. They were married on March 3, 1962, in Detroit, MI and they moved to Clearwater, FL in 1968. After Jean suffered a devastating stroke in 1993, he became her devoted caregiver until her passing in 2011. Don again found love with Peggy, traveling together between their homes in Clearwater, FL and Crossville, TN enjoying life to the fullest until his passing.


Don enjoyed a complete and meaningful life, and he always had a love of continuous learning. After

graduating Chattanooga High School, he moved to Detroit, MI and became a television technician. He

was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. After moving to Clearwater, FL he continued his TV tech career and eventually opened his own business, Tri-City TV. Don retired from the City of Clearwater Parking Engineering Division after 14 years of dedicated service. As President at Retirement Management (per his facebook page), he enjoyed traveling, technology, and relaxing – especially on cruise ships. He had many passions including fishing, boating, photography, golfing, ham radio and working on computers. He was especially proud of “The Parker Pages” genealogy website he built for his family legacy to live on. Don will be remembered for his kind and generous heart, his honesty and integrity and his ability to fix anything and everything. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
