Donald E. Minnear

Funeral Services for Mr. Donald Eugene Minnear, age 76, of Cookeville will be Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Brown’s Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Mr. Minnear passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Donald was born November 29, 1935 in White County TN to the late Frank Amon Minnear and Betty Kirby Minnear. He was a veteran of the Unites States Army and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and being outdoors. Mr. Minnear was also known for his carpenter skills. Donald is survived by his wife, Martha Faye Minnear; three children; Darin (Shelley) Minnear of Cookeville, Jennifer (Ronnie) Birdwell of Gainesboro, and Tammy (Sayler) Daugherty of Ft. Wayne IN., three brothers; Thomas (Lavada) Minnear of Cookeville, James (Judy) Minnear of Marion IN. and Kenneth (Linda) Minnear of Cookeville as well as two sisters; Linda Maxwell of Cookeville and Carol (Bill) Halfacre of Granville. Mr. Minnear is also survived by eight grandchildren; Hannah Minnear, Erika Minnear, DJ Montgomery, Chasity Montgomery, Jesse Birdwell, Caitlin Birdwell, Erin Daugherty and Megan Daugherty. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mattie Minnear. Pallbearers will be Jesse Birdwell, Fred Burton, Brooke Halfacre, Doug Halfacre, Tommy Howard, and Tommy Phillips. Bro. Jeremiah Tatum and Bill Halfacre will officiate the services.
