Funeral services for Mr. Donald Howard Bullock, 87 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, February 27th at 1p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Farris and Rev. Mike Womack will officiate. Interment with military honors rendered by the Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Salem Cemetery. Mr. Bullock's family will receive friends Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Bullock died Tuesday February 24, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1927, in Cookeville to the late RJ and Myrtle Farris Bullock. Donald graduated from Cookeville City School and was a World War II Veteran serving in the US Army. He was employed at Wilson Sporting Goods and retired from Fleetguard. He loved being outdoors and had a passion for farming, raising cattle, animal watching and flower gardening. He was also an avid and accomplished golfer, enjoying many rounds of golf with the Cookeville Senior Golfers. He will be fondly remembered as a generous and loving person. He was a longtime, dedicated member of Salem United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Terry and Fate Bullock. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathleen Bohannon Bullock (whom he married September 4, 1950 in Cookeville); daughter, Wanda Pippin of Brentwood; grandson M. Collin (Nicole) Pippin of Cookeville; granddaughter, Hailie Pippin; and many numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Collin Pippin, Charlie Howard, Lynn Bullock, Chad Bullock, Blake Dishman and Matt Farmer will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Cookeville Senior Golfers including Ken Fletcher, Bob Maxwell, Wayne Nichols and John Bilbrey will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Bullock's family expresses their sincere gratitude to Linda Morgan and Rick and Patty Cusick for the wonderful care they extended to their loved one. Memorial donations may be made to the Outreach Center at Salem United Methodist Church.
