Don Smith

A memorial service for Mr. Donald Walter Smith, age 79 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, January 22nd at 3:00 p.m. in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Eric Brown will officiate. His family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Smith died Friday, January 14, 2022 at Bethesda Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 15, 1942 in Dayton, TN to the late Claude Mason and Hazel (Green) Smith. Don lived most of his life in Cookeville, TN and graduated from Central High School and Tennessee Technological University. He was a veteran of the US Air Force Strategic Air Command. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Beth) Stockton Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Eric Brown; three grandsons, Matthew, Logan and Isaiah. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Corrynne Clements and a twin brother, David Smith, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mason Smith. Stories and memories are always treasured. In lieu of flowers make a contribution to a charity of your choice.
