Memorial services for Mr. Jesse Donald (Don) Baker, 76, of Cookeville, will be held at 11am February 7 at Heavenly Host Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 7 from 10:30am until service time at the church. Mr. Baker died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at his home in Cookeville. He was born February 7, 1938 in Hominy, OK to the late Charles D. and Demoye Treat Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Erma Boring; and brother, Raymond Baker. After earning his undergraduate degree at San Diego State University and his Master's Degree at Fresno State University, he spent his career working in hospital management including serving as the CFO at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, CA. He later moved to Cookeville and served as CFO of Dekalb Community Hospital until his retirement. Mr. Baker was a member and former treasurer of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church. He volunteered as a tax consultant with AARP and was a supporter of the Cookeville Depot Museum. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon Magnuson Baker (whom he married December 11, 1976 in Huntington Beach, CA); daughter, Tamara Lyons of Cookeville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Marina Baker of Las Vegas, NV, Joe and Margaret Baker of San Diego, CA; grandson, Kyle Lyons of Cookeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Heavenly Host Lutheran School or Heavenly Host Lutheran Church, 777 S. Willow Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38501.
