Funeral services for Dimple Allison Howell, 82 of Cookeville, will be Friday, September 24 at 1 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 PM and Friday after 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Allen Lovelace and Bro. Charles Allen will officiate. Mrs. Howell died Monday, September 20, 2021 at her home. She was born May 25, 1939 in Putnam County to the late William Herbert and Maggie Virginia Sullivan Allison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Carlos D. Howell on October 2, 2020; sisters, Margaret Maxwell, Dorothy Nell Hargis, Marie Davis; brothers, Hollis, Wallace, Johnny V., Bill and Ralph Allison; brother-in-law, Orville Howell, Jr. Dimple attended Boiling Springs School. She was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a retired seamstress with Red Kap of Cookeville with 40 years of service. Dimple enjoyed gardening, canning, working on the farm and taking care of the cows. Survivors include son, Kelvin Douglas Howell of Cookeville; brother, Jimmy Allison of Baxter; sisters-in-law, Berchie Allison of Baxter and Opal Howell of Cookeville; host of nieces and nephews; special lifetime friend, Lois Selby. The family wants to give special thanks to the caregivers, Pat Goodwin and Robyn Bouldin, and nieces, Connie Dalton, Glenda Bradley, Sue Randolph, Marilyn Goff, and nephew, Carlen Hargis. Active pallbearers will be Larry and Herbert Allison, Carlen and Mike Hargis, Keith Harmon, Brandon Dilldine, Michael Vinson and Tom Bradley.
