Dillous Bowman

Dillous Keith Bowman, age 69 of Cookeville, passed away Wednesday morning June 17, 2020 at Standing Stone Care & Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. He was born October 7, 1950 in Overton County, TN to the late Ralph and Dorothy Howard Bowman. Dillous graduated from Livingston Academy in 1968. He was an ordained minister and served as a pastor and elder. He cared deeply for those in nursing facilities and served as a leader of ministry to those in the Cookeville area. He was a member of Life Church. He was always ready to serve his church family in any way he could. He had a heart for the mission field and supported missionaries and was involved in countless mission trips all over the world. He was the owner and operator of Bowman Roofing and Gutters. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie Whittenburg Bowman, whom he married July 4, 1970 at Bethlehem Methodist Church in Overton Co., TN; daughter, Heather (Hans) Bean of Cookeville; son, Jacob (Megan) Bowman of Tullahoma, TN; sisters, Sue (Bill) Neal, Jeanette (Buddy) Crawford all of Cookeville; brother, Paul (Patsy) Bowman of Nashville; grandchildren, McGregor Bean, Carter Bean, DJ Bean, Ralph Chandler Bowman, and Nealy Grace Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Murphy and Judy Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday June 19 at The Edge facility at Life Church. Bobby Davis and Danny Johnson will officiate. Friends are invited to come by the church to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. Interment will be at Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery in Overton County. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
