Richard Frank Thiesen, known affectionately as Dick by his loved ones, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, in Cookeville, Tennessee. Born on March 23, 1933, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late John and Adeline Thiesen,


In his personal life, Dick was a devoted husband to his wife, Arlene Thiesen, who stood by his side in love and partnership throughout their years together. The couple was blessed with two sons, Brian and the late John Thiesen and a daughter Suzy Minton (Dan) who all inherited their father's kind spirit and ingenuity.


Dick's role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply. He is survived by his grandchildren, Brad Minton (Kim), Jennifer Dye (Jason), Samantha Franklin (Stephen), and Nick Thiesen (Taylor). Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and the unique individuals they became. His guidance and wisdom will remain a guiding light in their lives.


He will be remembered for his warm smile, his generous heart, and his ability to make those around him feel valued and loved. As we say goodbye to Richard Frank Thiesen, we celebrate a life that was rich in love, laughter, and craftsmanship.
