MAYLAND COMMUNITY Funeral services for Mr. Harry Richard "Dick" Snyder, age 74 of the Mayland Community in Cumberland County, will be held Thursday, August 25 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Horner Funeral Home in Monterey. Graveside services and interment will be Friday at 12 noon at Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. Rev. Jim Rogers will officiate. Dick died Monday afternoon August 22, 2016 at his home. He was born December 12, 1941 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Dr. Robert DeBra and Helen Harper Snyder. Dick was a retired Accountant with NCR. After moving to Cumberland County he worked a number of years at Fairfield Glade. Mr. Snyder was a collector of antique classic bicycles and was involved in the Wheelmen's Club, a group dedicated to keeping alive the heritage of American cycling. He was well-known as a gifted artist in wood carving. Family, friends, and many neighbors received his hand-crafted clocks, dishes, baby cradles, and other novelties. He had a deep love for his Boston Terrier, Jenny. Dick was of the protestant faith. Dick is survived by several extended family members and friends. His family will receive friends Thursday from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Horner Funeral Home in Monterey is in charge of arrangements (931) 526-6111.
