Dibrell Anderson

Funeral services for Lowery Dibrell (Dib) Anderson, age 90, of Cookeville, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday November 18 at Dyer Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. His family will receive friends Saturday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Sunday from 12 noon until service time. Mr. Anderson passed away Thursday morning November 15, 2018 at his home. He was born April 2, 1928 in Putnam County, TN to the late Georgie and Vallie Groce Anderson. Dib, as he was affectionately known, was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. He was a US Army veteran having been stationed in Germany and France. He retired from City of Cookeville Codes Enforcement Dept. with over 25 years of service. Dib enjoyed country music, working in his yard, and spending time with friends and family. He was kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rose Lee Herron Anderson, whom he married July 2, 1949 in Cookeville; daughter, Sherron (Gary) Luhn; grandson, Chris (Tristica) Luhn, all of Cookeville; brother, Darrell (Jenny) Anderson of San Diego, CA; and sister, Adell Vinson of Paducah, KY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emmie Madewell. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Willow Meals on Wheels, 1150 S.
