Funeral services for Mr. Dennis Lewis Poole, age 77, of Cookeville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday December 31 at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Leo Bilbrey officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 - 11 a.m. Mr. Poole passed away Thursday afternoon, December 29, 2016 at his home. He was born October 23, 1939 in Detroit, MI to the late Margaret and George Scarliff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Poole. Mr. Poole was the owner/mechanic of D & E Trucking for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Earnestine "Plum" Maddox Poole, whom he married February, 26, 1969 in Cookeville; four daughters their spouses, Heather Poole of Cookeville, Tish and Guy O'Brien of Grapevine, TX, Jamie and Richie Bilbrey of Cookeville, and Victoria Lynn Poole of Detroit, MI; sister, Shirley Poole of Highland, MI; and four grandchildren, Reece and Bree Bilbrey, Riley Upchurch, and Brolin O'Brien. Pallbearers will be Richie and Reece Bilbrey, Guy O'Brien, Evan Riley, Chad Maddox, and Rep. John Mark Windle. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
