Dennis Malone

Memorial services with military honors for Dennis Michael Malone, age 77 of Cookeville, will be at 4 p.m. Sunday April 23 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.

His family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time.

Dennis passed away Sunday April 16, 2023 at his home.

He was born December 24, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the late William Malone and Catherine Riplinger Malone.

Dennis was a US Army veteran. He graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1968 with a degree in Engineering. He was retired from Nissan in Smyrna, TN.

Dennis was witty with a dry sense of humor. He loved his family and was quick to help others in need.

He is survived by his step-children, Steve Cathey, and Delores (Mike) Clifton of Dickson, TN; nieces and nephews, Mollie (Rich) Sund of Palatine, IL, William (Rebecca) Malone of St. Augustine, FL, and Mike (Julie) Malone of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Kenny (Amanda) Riley of Dickson; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Emma, and Parker Riley; and special friend, Kenneth Madewell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Wheeler Malone; and brother and sister-in-law, Dr. William (Sue) Malone.
