Wanda DeLois Lee, known affectionately as Memaw to her loved ones, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on August 21, 1929, in Obion, Tennessee, DeLois's vibrant spirit and warm heart touched many throughout her 94 years of life.
DeLois was the cherished matriarch of a large and loving family. Despite these losses, DeLois's strength and resilience remained a cornerstone of her character, providing comfort and guidance to her family.
A lifelong resident of Obion, DeLois recently moved to Cookeville, Tennessee, to be closer to her daughter. Her commitment to her community was evident through her active involvement with the Obion Senior Citizens and her membership at Oak Ridge Church of Christ. Her faith was a source of solace and inspiration, and she lived her beliefs through her actions and kindness toward others.
DeLois's love for her family was unparalleled, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She reveled in family gatherings, where her quick wit and hearty laughter were as much a staple as the delicious meals she prepared. A great cook, DeLois's recipes and culinary wisdom will be cherished and passed down through generations.
In her younger years, DeLois enjoyed the camaraderie and competition of bowling, a pastime that showcased her spirited nature and love for socializing. Her friends and family will fondly remember her enthusiasm and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.
