Memorial services for Mr. Delbert "Del" Lee Clark, age 83, of Cookeville, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church with Rev. Joe Weatherly officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Clark died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Tennessee Valley Health Care Systems Alvin C York Campus in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was born August 3, 1932, in Keosauqua, Iowa to the late Edna Bragg and Delbert Boyd Clark. Mr. Clark served in the US Navy as a Mineman Seaman from 1949 to 1953. He then became an electrician and later an electronics specialist with Warner Lambert Corporation in Rockford, Illinois. He retired in 1997, moving to Cookeville, where he lived for the last 19 years. During his early retirement Del was an enthusiastic golfer and fisherman and devoted much of his time to remodeling the family home. In later years he was an avid reader, weekly card player, and a daily fan of the Sudoku puzzle. He could always be found with his constant companion, his little Schnauzer, Lexie, nearby. Delbert was a loving, husband and father. He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Kellie Clark; his daughter, Mashele Fillmore; his step-son, Michael Burleigh; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bill and Carol Clark, Jack and Judy Clark, and Gary Clark; his six grandchildren, Melissa, Andrew, Jessica, and Michelina Clark, and Samantha and Josh Fillmore; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Clark was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Memorial donations may be made to the church at 640 North Washington Ave.; Cookeville, TN 38501.
