Deborah Spriggs

A Celebration of Life Service for Deborah McDonald Spriggs, age 58 of Cookeville , will be held Saturday, January 13th at 5:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Deborah's brother, Wayne McDonald, will officiate. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. She died suddenly Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was born January 24, 1959 in Cookeville to the late A. Q. and Betty Josephine Bell McDonald. She was a 1977 graduate of Putnam Co. Senior High and earned a Bachelor's, Master's and Education Specialist Degree from Tennessee Tech University. She worked in elementary education for 30 plus years as a teacher and media specialist in Jamestown, TN and for many years in Marietta, GA. At the time of her passing she worked at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and with the Baxter Post Office. She was a member of Engrafted Word Church. Debbie was a exceptionally fun person who had an infectious laugh. She loved everyone and loved with her whole heart. She was a wonderful mother, and those who called her Nana were her greatest joy. Cruises and beach trips with her family and friends were her favorite adventures. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Logan and Scott McCormick, Jade Martin and Challyn Spriggs, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Rowen and Darby McCormick, Charlie Roby and Taylor Hernandez; one granddog, Kira; brothers, Joe (Carolyn) McDonald of Hoover, Alabama and Wayne (Debbie) McDonald of Baxter; a host of nieces and nephews; and by numerous friends and adopted family.
