Debbie Goolsby

Debra K. "Debbie" Goolsby, a beacon of joy and beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, in Cookeville, TN. Born on May 30, 1961, in Indianapolis, IN, Debbie's warmth and laughter filled the lives of all who knew her.

She is cherished in memory by her adoring mother, Cricket Pennington; her loving daughter Nikki Dyer Smith; her dear brother Glen Goolsby; her caring sisters Brenda (Don) Maddox and Karen (Carl) Mashburn; treasured grandchildren Jakob Paul Smith and Abbie Claire Ogles; and her cherished nieces and nephews Jessica, Samantha, Glen, Sharron, Bradley, Megan, Justin, and Chad, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Alford Leland Goolsby and granddaughter, Molly Smith.

For 26 wonderful years, Debbie was a dedicated employee at Russell Stovers Candies. She also found a rewarding role serving residents as an assistant at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. Debbie's passions were as vibrant as her personality, from her love of music to her enthusiastic support for University of Tennessee Athletics. She also had a special fondness for her "beamer", which captured her spirit of adventure and freedom.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Hambree officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 pm until service. Interment will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Debbie's indelible legacy will be carried in the hearts of those who loved her - her laughter echoing as a joyful reminder of the life she embraced so fully. Her passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt, but the light of her presence remains unextinguished, guiding us with memories filled with love and kindness.
