Funeral services for Mrs. Deanna Nipp-Kientz, 69, known as "�Dede"� to her special friends, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, June 30 at 1 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Lesley Hall will officiate. Burial will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Nipp-Kientz died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 26, 1942 in Springfield, IL to Claudine Manderer of Springfield, IL and the late De-Edmund Nipp. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Deanna Kientz promoted peace and goodwill. She was a member of the Cookeville Quaker Meeting for 12 years. She was very active in Quaker Organizations. Deanna served as Treasurer of Southern Appalachian Yearly Meeting and Association of the Religious Society of Friends for the last few years. Mrs. Nipp-Kientz worked as a librarian at Tennessee Tech for 21 years. She was a member of Tenn-Share, an effort that helps Tennessee libraries deliver efficient, effective library services through group purchasing power and innovative resource sharing projects. Deanna Nipp-Kientz is survived by her husband of six years, Turtle Kientz of Cookeville, TN; her twin-sister, Judy Kloster of St. Joseph, IL; her mother, Claudine Manderer; her son, David Howe of Jamestown, RI; her daughter, Amy Howe of Coronado, CA; grandson, Timothy Howe; and granddaughter, Rebecca Howe, both of Jamestown, RI. She was preceded in death her father. Deanna"�s family requests instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Friends Service Committee, AFSC Development, 1501 Cherry St., Philadelphia, PA 19102. http://afsc.org/ Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
