Dean Riddle

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Dean Riddle, age 69, of Cookeville, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15 at Dyer Funeral Home with Lynn Bullock officiating. Interment will follow at Shipley Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 – 8 p.m. and again Sunday from 12 noon – 2 p.m. Dean passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, Jan 12, 2017 after an extend illness. She was born March 17, 1947 to Clifford and Lonia Scarbrough Lewis in Putnam County, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Sparks, Hazel Wheeler; three brothers, Mark, Harold and Ralph Lewis; and grandson, Derrick Brown, Dean was a loving wife, mother and friend. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much. She was formerly employed at Cookeville Shirt Factory, Wilson’s Sporting Goods, and later retired from Tutco with 25 years of service. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Andrew Jackson Riddle Jr., they married June 7, 1965 in Nashville, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robin and Shirley Riddle, Kelly and Rebekah Riddle; daughter, Regina McDaniel Riddle, all of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Ryan McDaniel, John and Justin Riddle, and Chasity Brown Keltner; three great-grandchildren, Chloe Livingston, Lylah and Finley Keltner; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Willene and Conrad Kennedy, Notie and Bobby Moser, Betty and Ron Bilbrey all of Cookeville; brother, Edward Lewis of Fairborn, OH; and her two fur babies, Taco and Little Girl. The family wishes to expresses their appreciation to Cookeville Regional Medical Center for the care rendered to their family during Dean’s illness. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
