Baxter - Funeral services for Willis Dean Cooper, 63 of Baxter will be Monday, December 18 at 1 p.m. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will be in Winchester Family Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends Monday after 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Cooper died Friday, December 15, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 5, 1954 in Putnam County to the late Dewey Lee Cooper and Winnie Lee Clouse Cooper Grider. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son-in-law Joe Smith and a brother Norman Cooper. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired cook with Russell Stover Candy Company of Cookeville. Survivors include his wife of 31 years (Married February 14, 1986 in Putnam County) Carol Burton Cooper of Baxter, daughter Michelle Smith, a son Matthew Cooper both of Cookeville, sisters Nancy Hale and Rita Hale both of Cookeville, brothers and a sister-in-law Junior Cooper and Jackie Cooper both of Cookeville, Bill and Micki Cooper of Lebanon, granddaughter Kaylee Smith, mother Betty Cooper of Cookeville, sister of the heart, Doris and husband, Spencer Doss; mbrother and sisters-in-law Mark and Eleisha Burton and Kay Henley, sister of the heart Doris and Spencer Doss.
