David Roberson

Memorial Services for Mr. David Verble Roberson, age 75 of Algood, will be held Saturday December 20th at 11 a.m. at the Algood Family Event Center. Rev. Pat Smith will officiate. Mr. Roberson's family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the Algood Family Event Center. Mr. Roberson died Tuesday December 16, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Nashville. He was born August 9, 1939 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to the late Thurman and Linnie Dell Verble Roberson. A graduate of Algood High School, he later served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He worked in Florida in sales for automotive parts and returned to Algood where he has lived for the past 15 years. He will be fondly remembered for his funny, silly and quirky sense of humor. He enjoyed taking walks around town. He was an avid reader and spent many good times with his sister Peggy and cousin Freda White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Roberson and by a sister, Sharon Gay Roberson. He is survived by his daughters, Leslie (Lyndon) Schmidt and Lori Sims, both of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Peggy Roberson of Algood and Wanda "June" Richardson of Cornersville, TN; four grandchildren, Levi, Chloe and Ella Schmidt and Mason Sims; and by Goddaughter, Clara Ashley of Tallahassee, FL.
