David Nelson Martin

COOKEVILLE, TN - Mr. David Nelson Martin, aged 78 of Cookeville, passed away Monday February 12, 2024 at his residence, in the presence of his wife and two stepchildren.  No services were held at that time.

Mr. Martin was born July 4, 1945 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  He was the son of the late Charles Martin and Elva Reed Boden.  He was a longtime resident of Pennsylvania before moving to Tennessee in 2008.  He was a hard worker and was employed as a truck driver most of his life.  Most recently he worked for Hanes & Kibblehouse.   He enjoyed spending time boating and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret "Peggy" Gourley Martin; stepson and stepdaughter, Carl Van Horn and Janet Frank and two sisters Sandra Gyger, and Lori Ryan.  He was preceded in death by sister Charolotte Haggerty.  He was later joined in death by sisters Penelope Boden and Debra Boden.  He was raised by his late grandparents Harold and Emma Pennapacker.  He is resting with his grandmother in the mausoleum in Perkasie Cemetery, Perkasie, Pennsylvania.
