BAXTER-Memorial graveside services for David Earl Carr, 63 of Cookeville, will be at Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community of Putnam County on Wednesday, March 13 at 1 PM. Bro. Gary Farris will officiate. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, everyone will meet at the cemetery for the service.
Mr. Carr died Sunday morning, February 25, 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 6, 1960 in Highland Park, Michigan to Doreen Huddleston Carr of Cookeville and the late Earl Ray Carr.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donny Carlton Carr.
David's father Earl grew up in the Boma Community and mother Doreen in the Mt. Herman Community of Putnam County. After they married in 1951 they went north for work. They raised their children in Michigan. Earl and Doreen retired and moved the family back to Tennessee in 2004.
David was a retired shop foreman in the tool and die industry.
Survivors in addition to his mother, include sons, Andrew David Carr of Rochester Hills, MI, Johnathan David Carr (Brooke) of Shelby Township, MI and Daniel David Carr of Auburn Hills, MI; sister, Cherrye Lynne Carr Aguirre and husband Rance Aguirre of Cookeville; brother, Randal Wayne Carr of Cookeville; grandchildren, Gavin Carr and Kayce Carr, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and a special friend, Andy Harmaday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Smellage Memory Gardens Fund, c/o Donnie Huddleston 109 Cherry Street, Baxter, TN 38544.
