Danny Fox

Funeral services for Danny Joe Fox, age 75 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday October 9 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Johnny Fox and Cody Harrington will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery.

His family will receive friends Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. and again Sunday from 12 p.m. until service time.

Danny passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at his home.

He was born January 8,1947 in Jackson County, TN to the late William Collie Fox and Ada Jewel Carter Fox.

Danny graduated from Jackson County High School in 1964. He played basketball for the Blue Devils and remained a sports enthusiast his entire life. He officiated basketball and baseball games for 40+ years in the Upper Cumberland.

He attended Tennessee Tech University and later joined the US Army and served in Vietnam.

Danny worked at Fleetguard (Cummins Filtration) for 25 years. He later worked at Lucky B Mfg for 23 years.

He was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Brenda Scott Fox; sons, Terry Fox (fiancé, Jessica Pryor) of Knoxville and Casey (Andrea) Fox of Cookeville; daughters, Cindy (Terry) Langley, Suzanne (Scott) Woods and Trish (Wes) Parker all of Cookeville; brothers, Bob (Nancy) Fox of Hartselle, AL, Dwight (Sue) Fox of Gainesboro, Quentin (Linda) Fox of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Cody (Chynna) Harrington, Jacob Harrington, Jaxon & Maddox Fox, Ashlee & Dallas Parker, and Caleb Langley; and two great grandsons, Brecken & Briggs Harrington; nieces and nephews, Daryl (Linda) Fox, Cheryl (Brent) McClendon; Lori (Chris) Halfacre, Abby Fox, Kevin King, Patrick (Lilith) King, and Latonya (Gary) Mott.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Roberson Fox, mother-in-law, Susie Scott, and brothers-in-law, J.J. Roberson and Carl Edwin (Potsie) Scott.
