Daniel E. Collins

Mr. Daniel E. "Danny" Collins, age 68 of Cookeville, died Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 21, 1953 in Clarendon County, South Carolina to Elizabeth Ridgeway Collins and the late Barney E. Collins. Danny served his country in the United States Air Force as a mechanic at Seymour Johnson Air Force base in North Carolina and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. While living in North Carolina, he met his future wife Elizabeth "Peach" and had a daughter, Melanie. They then moved to South Carolina and Tennessee. Throughout his career as a mechanical engineer, he worked at AP Parts in Goldsboro, NC, Frigidaire in Orangeburg, SC, and Metcom in Cookeville. Above all, Danny was a family man and devoted son, brother, father and grandfather. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Elizabeth "Peach" Hall Collins; and by a niece, Kimberly Rogers. He is survived by a daughters, Melanie Jackson and husband Justin Jackson and Heather Hoyt and husband, Les; two grandchildren, Danny and Becca Jackson; brother, Ronnie Collins and wife Gail Heissinger; sisters, Betty Hodge and husband Billy and Janet Christiano; and by nieces and nephews, Chariot Collins-Hughes, Roni Collins, Chris and Penny Christiano and Karen Leath.
