Funeral services for Dakota "CODY" Dewayne Rodgers, 19 of Rickman, will be Thursday, December 23 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Smellage Cemetery in the Boma Community. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Eric Brown will officiate. Cody died Saturday night, December 18, 2021 in Putnam County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born November 26, 2002 to Amanda Maynard Wilson of Rickman and Michael Rodgers of Baxter. He was preceded in death by daughter Kynley Rodgers, brother Hunter Maynard, grandmother Regina Littrell Meadows, great-grandparents Clay and Clara Boyd Littrell. Cody attended Upperman High School in Baxter and played on the football team. He enjoyed football, basketball, LSU Tigers, Tennessee Titans, spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing basketball at TTU with his brother, Clay on the Tech courts, kayaking, fishing, all music and his red ranger pickup truck. Survivors in addition to his mother and father include step father Chris Wilson of Rickman, daughter Blakely Jo Rodgers, sister McKenzie (Brett) Mitchell of Baxter, brothers Clay Maynard, Austin Sparks, Josh (Chris) Rodgers all of Baxter, grandparents: Bob Carter of Hilham, Jimmy and Jenny Maynard of Baxter, Lynn Miles of Monterey, aunts and uncles: Beth Ann Maynard of Baxter, Carol Hall Bradford, Joan Littrell, Gaile (Virgil) Paul, Jeff (Annette) Littrell, Jennifer Littrell, Jeremy Maynard all of Cookeville, Vanessa Tayes of Crossville. Active pallbearers will be Clay Maynard, Perry Sullivan, Chris Rodgers, Brian Hall, Austin Sparks, Jarvis Jones, Chris Hall and Mason Lawson.
