Daisy passed away Thursday morning July 30, 2020 at Life Care Center of Sparta. She was born October 12, 1939 in Carthage, TN to the late George Isham Grogan and Eliza Mai Harville Grogan. Daisy was of the Baptist faith. She was a Christian who loved Jesus with all her heart and trusted him as her Savior for most all her life. She believed in living a holy life just as Jesus instructed us to. One of her favorite bible verses was I Corinthians 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that ye may be able to bear it." She trusted Jesus to always be that way and to guide her footsteps in the righteous walk that leads to him. She lived and taught that walk to all who knew her. She loved teaching Sunday school at church to the little children many years ago. Those were some of the happiest times of her life. She was a strong woman who was tough as nails and full of spunk all the way till the end. She had a hard life at times, even having to be both mama and daddy to her children and even though they didn't have a lot of material possessions growing up, her children never felt that. She had a very generous and unselfish heart, who would give you all she had no matter how little that was. She loved her family with all her heart and loved being with them and greatly missed the ones that had gone on. She always loved being outside, whether working in the garden and putting up vegetables with her sister or going barefoot outside tending to her flowers, she always enjoyed the outdoors. She also enjoyed sewing, puzzles, reading and especially the bible. she loved dinners with her family and country ham breakfast on Christmas. She had been sick for several years and suffered greatly in this life.. she was a fighter and lived the words in the bible scriptures of II Timothy 4:7-8 7."I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." We will love and miss her everyday until we are reunited, and never to be separated again. She was retired from Fixture World and formerly worked at Cookeville Shirt Factory. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (John) Herron; son, Eddie Staggs, all of Cookeville; brother, Isham Grogan Jr. of Baxter; grandchildren, Amanda Staggs, John Richard Herron, and Jesse Herron; great-grandson, Teddy Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by and infant son, Isham Lynn Staggs; sisters, Ida Mai Blair and Jewell Harville; brothers, James and Arthur Grogan; and several infant siblings. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111 Share your thoughts and memories at www.hhhfunerals.com.
