Curtis Ray Holloway

July 11, 1953 — July 12, 2024

Curtis Ray Holloway, known affectionately as Curtis to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024, just one day after celebrating his 71st birthday. Born on July 11, 1953, in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Curtis was the cherished son of the late Ulis Carson and Mary Maudine Matheney Holloway. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Carson Holloway, and his son, Curtis Mayberry, Jr.

His legacy continues through his devoted sisters, Barbara Sue Hart, Rita Lee, Teresa Manis, and Tina Manis, all of Cookeville, son, Paul Mayberry and daughter, Sherry Mayberry; and his loving fiancée, Jo Ann Riddle, who brought immense joy and companionship to his later years.

A graduate of Jackson County High School, Curtis's education laid the foundation for his successful career in small engine repair. His expertise and dedication to his craft earned him the respect and trust of the community.

Beyond his professional life, Curtis was an avid football fan, his enthusiasm for the sport was infectious, and game days were always a special occasion for him and those close to him. His love for the game was only matched by the love he had for his family and friends.

Those who knew Curtis will remember him as a man with a great sense of humor. His quick wit and infectious laughter were a source of joy and comfort to all around him. Curtis was a good brother, a loyal friend, and a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched.

Curtis's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we bid farewell to Curtis Ray Holloway, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of cherished moments, laughter, and love. His memory will continue to inspire us, and he will forever be remembered as a man who brought happiness and light to everyone around him.
