COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Connie Gail Vaughn, a cherished resident of Cookeville, TN, passed away peacefully at her residence on October17, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on April 7, 1950, in Gainesboro, TN, Connie lived a life marked by her unwavering faith, dedication to education, and passion for her family and community.

Connie was a devoted teacher's aide in the elementary schools for the Putnam County Board of Education. Her commitment to nurturing young minds extended beyond the classroom, as she was a proud supporter of local youth sports organizations, including the Baxter Little League, Baxter Babe Ruth, and the Baxter Quarterback Club. Connie’s enthusiasm for baseball and the Tennessee Vols were well-known, and she shared her love for these passions with all who knew her.

She attended Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ and was active in Youth Ministry for several years. Connie's faith filled her life and guided her actions. Her warmth and kindness were felt by everyone who crossed her path, leaving an enduring impact on the lives of many.

Connie leaves behind her beloved husband, Fred Vaughn, who resides in Cookeville, and her son, Justin (Jamie) Vaughn, also of Cookeville. She was a proud grandmother to her granddaughter, Ellie Christine Vaughn, who brought immense joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Howard and Ellen Louise Meadows Guinn, and her cherished pet dog, TY.

Funeral Services for Connie will be held at 2pm, Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ with Andy Brewster, Steve Baggett and Randy Bybee officiating.

Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-7pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, and on Sunday from 12:30pm until the time of services at the church.

Connie will be remembered as a pillar of her community, a loving wife, mother, and nanny, and a faithful servant of her Lord. Her legacy of love, support, and kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she touched.

Connie's family extends their sincere gratitude to Gentiva Hospice, especially nurses Meghan and Cassandra.
