Clifton Gann

Clifton Cleve Gann, age 75 of Cookeville, died Tuesday March 22, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His wishes of cremation with no services are being honored. He was born October 28, 1946 in Blytheville, AR to the late Burness and Mildred Mitchell Gann. He was the fourth of seven children. Clifton was a 1964 graduate of Humes High School, Memphis Tennessee. In High School, he was their star Quarterback. After graduation, he served his country in the Army for 2 years as Military Police stationed in Alaska and then Vietnam. He received an Honorable Discharge. He was employed as a painter and a security guard. He was a member of Holy Names Catholic Church, Memphis Tennessee. He enjoyed visiting Home Depot to study the many items used in home renovations. One of his passions was house painting and he had a unique gift for creating customized colors. He enjoyed fishing. He loved to watch the Wheel of Fortune, ESPN, and old Westerns. He inherited a beautiful singing voice from his father. Often he spoke of his appreciation of Nashville and its "wonderful culture". As a person who could easily strike up a conversation with anyone, wherever he went Clifton welcomed hearing about what matters most to whomever he encountered each day. Above all, he was known as being very kind and generous. Clifton is survived by a daughter, Tracey Lynne Lambert of Arlington, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Elaine Luana Davis (Brian) of Bartlett, TN and Haston Lee Lambert of Arlington, TN; great-grandchildren Bradley Gavin Davis, Brianna Elaine Leilani Davis of Bartlett, TN and Alice Amy Pahealii Lambert of Franklin, TN; sisters, Lanetta Gann of New Britain, CT; Margie Williams of Cabot, AR.; nieces, Debra Cottingham of Bartlett, TN, Stephanie Levine of Sarasota FL, Pamela Walker of Jacksonville AR, Sherry Tubbs of Alexandria, TN; and a multitude of grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Almer Belton Gann, Linwood Gann; sisters Erion Elizabeth Taylor, Teresa Tubbs; nephews Robert Manning Jr, Michael Manning, Kevin Manning.
