Graveside services and interment with military honors for Cletis John Van Dyke, 81, of the Baxter, will be held at 2 pm Friday at Double Springs Cemetery. Bro. Mike Webb will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery. Mr. Van Dyke died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 11, 1929, in Raton, New Mexico to the late Griffin Dean and Elva Pearl Faucett Van Dyke. Mr. Van Dyke was U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the former owner of Washington Park Florist in Denver, CO and Platte Canyon Greenhouse in Littleton, CO. After moving to Tennessee, Mr. Van Dyke worked for the Putnam County Schools as a bus driver. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Shelly Wilton and a brother, Leonard Van Dyke. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pearl Hall Van Dyke (whom he married November 24, 1956 in Denver, CO); son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Becky Van Dyke of Broomfield, CO; daughter, Lydia Stanton of Cookeville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marla and Jim Hunter of Colorado Springs, CO, Nova and Roy Smith of Lakewood, CO and Frieda Simpson of Vancouver, Washington; five grandchildren, Jason, Keith, & Josh Stanton, and Evan & Ally Van Dyke; and great-grandson, Michael Smith.
