Claudine Sumner

Funeral services for Mrs. Claudine Sumner, age 61, of Monterey, will be held at 11am Tuesday, September 6 at Horner Funeral Home in Monterey. Bro. Bobby Floyd will officiate. Interment will follow at the Wilson Cemetery in Overton County. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Sumner passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at her daughter's home in Cookeville, TN. She was born July 14, 1955 in Monterey to the late Claude and Katie Ford Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Phillips; sister, Deborah Eldridge; an infant brother; and two grandchildren, Josephine and Jirek Hruska. Mrs. Sumner was retired from FFM (Perdue Farms). She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John Sumner (they married December 27, 1971 in Jamestown, TN); two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Brandon Irving of Winter Park, FL, Sonya and Jaramiah Hruska of Cookeville; brother, Kenneth Phillips of Jonesboro, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Rick Ashburn of Cookeville; eleven grandchildren, Austin Willford, Ashley and Dakota Collins, Makala George, Brody and Hunter Irving, Anastasia, Angel, Anezka, Jaramiah, and Arianna Hruska; and two great-grandchildren, Portia and Mercedes Collins.
