Funeral service for Clarence Troy Whittaker, age 77, of Cookeville will be at 11 a.m. Friday May 24 at Horner Funeral Home in Monterey. Pastor Terry Geren will officiate. Interment will follow at Sand Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Friday from 10 a.m. until service time. Mr. Whittaker passed away Saturday May 18, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born May 26, 1941 in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Davy Lee and Ina Ruth Ford Whittaker. Mr. Whittaker was retired from Russell Stovers in Cookeville. He is survived by his wife Peggy Whittaker of 59 years; who he married April 30, 1960 in Crossville, TN; two daughters, Janet (Cletis) Johnson of Monterey, Tammy (Carl) Winegar of Celina; brother, Roland (Pearl) Whittaker of Monterey; and grandchildren, Amanda Johnson, Tina Strader, Chris Johnson, Rachel Whittaker, Victoria Winegar, Elisha Winegar, and Rachel Winegar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Paul Whittaker. Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
