Clarence Landis

Memorial services for Clarence Eugene Landis, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Danny Whitson will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. Clarence passed away Saturday July 11, 2020 at Signature HealthCare of Putnam County. He was born April 11, 1938 in Clayton, OH to the late Ray and Marie Srode Landis. Clarence was a member of Summerfield United Methodist Church, and the Cookeville Coin Club. He retired from Mallory Controls in Sparta, TN after over 30 years of service. He enjoyed coin collecting, attending car shows, tending to his flower gardens, and fellowshipping with family and lifelong friends, Gene Reichard, Carole Landis and Alvin Kallas. He is survived by three daughters, Raejean Landis, Lisa Ann Landis, and Nancy Diana Landis, all of Cookeville; son, Robert Michael Landis and wife Carrie of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Cole Allen Jarman of Cookeville and Logan Lee Olive Landis of Knoxville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judith Ann Olive Landis; and sister, Patti Reichand. As an expression of appreciation for the positive treatments he received, Clarence donated his body to Vanderbilt School of Medicine and will be attending medical school with 572 new doctors and residents later in July.
