Funeral services for Clarence Ensor Gaw, age 80, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12 at Willow Avenue Church of Christ with Bro. Clarence DeLoach and grandson Tyler Gaw officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home and again Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Mr. Gaw passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, November 9, 2016 at his home. He was born September 14, 1936 in Putnam County, TN to the late Ensor and Dimple Farris Gaw. Mr. Gaw was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. He was one of the original members when Willow Avenue congregation began. He was a TN National Guard veteran. He worked at Foutch Distributing for many years and still enjoyed seeing some of his old route customers. He began Gaw's Auto Mart in 1984 and worked there for 32 years. He had a love for buying and selling cars as a Wholesaler and made many friends of his customers in Middle Tennessee through those years. He was a volleyball enthusiast and played in the TN Senior Olympics for many years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Loretta Burchett Gaw, whom he married May 28, 1955 in Cookeville; two sons and daughers-in-law, Mike and Kim Gaw, and Jeff and Debbie Gaw, all of Cookeville; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Gary Richardson of Jackson County, and five grandchildren, Tyler and wife Letha Gaw, Derek Gaw, Chandler Gaw, Chayce Gaw and Mandy Lyne Gaw; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Adaline Gaw. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tyler, Derek, Chandler and Chayce Gaw, long-time friend Lewis Coomer, and great-nephews Wyatt and Luke Mabry. Memorial contributions may be made to Happy Haven Children's Home, 2311 Wakefield Dr. Cookeville, TN 38501 or to Willow Meals at Willow Avenue Church of Christ, 1150 S.
